Juliet Lapidos, writing for Slate.com, offers her thoughts on outdoor movies. In short she hates them. Her reasons: its uncomfortable, too dark, no air conditioning, and talking.
Clearly, she’s never been to Movies in the Park in Little Rock. I’m offering her an open invitation to join us anytime this summer. Hopefully she’ll take me on it.

It sounds like what she actually hates is New York and New Yorkers.

I LOVE MOVIES IN THE PARK. It isn’t too dark, because there are street lights. It isn’t uncomfortable if you bring a blanket and a pillow. There is talking in every movie theater. I hear less of it at the park actually. And saying there is no air conditioning is stupid. I would pick the outdoors any day of the week! LOVE IT!

I recently moved to the Little Rock area and am excited to attend my first “Movies in the Park” event.
Way back when, we went to the drive-in movies and loved it. I think this will be just as enjoyable.
