LITTLE ROCK – Movies in the Park, the popular outdoor movie night at the Riverfest Amphitheater today announced its 2007 summer schedule with a diverse list of titles, including blockbusters like Spiderman and Shrek 2, along with oldie hits The Breakfast Club and The Wizard of Oz.
Movies in the Park begins its third season with a special thanks to sponsors Baptist Health, Comcast, Entergy, the Little Rock Downtown Partnership, the Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau, Moses Tucker, the River Market and Stone Ward. The movies will play weekly on Wednesday nights beginning June 6 and running through August 1.
“We are thrilled to be entering our third year of bringing great films to the riverfront,” said Blake Rutherford, head of the Movies in the Park volunteer steering committee. “We owe a special thanks to all of our sponsors and all of the people who continue to come and enjoy outdoor movies.”
Moviegoers are encouraged to bring families, picnics and pets to the park to enjoy an outdoor movie under the stars. The amphitheater will open an hour before film showings and movies will start at sundown each week.
“Movies in the Park provide families the opportunity to explore downtown and enjoy a movie together,” said Sharon Priest, executive director of the Downtown Partnership. “Family time is so valuable and so rare. It also provides a weekday cultural event for those living in and around downtown.”

- July 11 Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy
- July 18 My Best Friend’s Wedding
- July 25 The Bourne Identity
- August 1 Wizard of Oz
*Along with the regular schedule, Movies in the Park will be screening Casablanca on Sunday, May 20 beginning at sundown as part of the Little Rock Film Festival.
